Alumna Mona May, the famed costume designer behind films such as Clueless and Enchanted, will be on campus on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from 11am to 12pm in FIDM Annex Room A332. She will speak to Students about her career and bring a portfolio of her work. Her latest film for 2012, is Vamps, starring Sigourney Weaver and Malcolm McDowell.
FIDM Alumna Kaitlynn Wood, a Graduate of the Entertainment Set Design& Decoration Program, worked in the Set Decoration Depart of The Artist, which has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Art Direction in Production Design and Set Decoration
Kaitlynn worked under the direction of Production Designer Laurence Bennett and Set Decorator Robert Gould. She is the first Graduate from Entertainment Set Design & Decoration to receive an on screen credit for an Oscar nominated film in Art Direction.
FIDM Instructor Ron Pastucha helped create the fashion spread on pages 94 to 102 in Locale Magazine. This issue features a Monique Lhuillier dress on the cover as well as in the spread Ron worked on.

FIDM San Diego recently welcomed Fashion 5.0 Magazine for an on campus presentation. The local magazine put together a short video clip of the visit.
On Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 6pm to 8pm, five savvy bloggers and online media specialists will share their expertise for "Why Blog? Ask Experts How to Amplify Your Online Presence" at FIDM San Francisco. Bloggers include Adelle McElveen of FashionistaLab.com, Erin Hagstrom of CaliVintage.com, Ashley Gustafson of FashionablyAshley.com, Lorraine Sanders of SFIndieFashion.com, and Sinead Norenius of iFabbo.com.
The panel is open to FIDM Students and Alumni, and the general public. A networking session and refreshments will follow.

Drew Barrymore was recently spotted wearing a Chan Luu Olivine Cashmere and Silk Scarf. The FIDM Alumna has countless celebrity fans such as Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Vanessa Hudgens, and Nicole Richie.
Just Accepted Fashion Design Student Ally Greven is currently interning for the famed designer Zandra Rhodes at her Solana Beach studio.

How did you find FIDM? I learned about FIDM from The Hills TV show. I thought LA would be a good experience.
What do you love about your major? I love the sketching class with Ms. Riegelman.
Merchandise Product Development Alumna Meredith Grier is an Assistant Designer for Honeydew Intimates. The first group that she designed was bought by Nordstrom and Dillard's and photographed by Stylesight. Look for Meredith's product in stores in May.
